This is truly a rare and extremely hard to find 1912 - 1920's set of Faturan prayer beads. They come strung with silver links and weight 79 grams. They were hand made from bakelite amber incense and oils.
Each bead are hand made and no 2 are the same in shape but close. The patina on the beads will also show the age of this gorgeous set.
The petina has aged the color to an almost grape color. There's only one way to test for faturan and that's the sandpaper test. Scratch a small bead and see if the resin of the bead is red..
If so, you have authentic faturan if they come out white then clearly you do "NOT HAVE FATURAN" but instead have plasric or some other kind of resin.. It's the incense in the resin that is key... Dont be fooled by all the fakes out there. Do your research online dont just read one site but all. If you want Authentic Faturan, the beads will "NOT BE MARBLE" when light shows the translucent color of the bead..So if your looking for a prayer bead set thats marbled they wont be Faturan. Authentic Faturan never comes with a marble transparency. If you want a Marble look in your beads then Faturan isnt the type of bead your looking for. Just want to make sure you have all the facts before purchasing. Thank you for your interest in this exquisite truly rare and gorgeous set of Authentic Faturan Prayer beads strung with silver hand made links.
